Rambling

The major pieces are in place for the vertical offense. Strong armed Kerry Collins. Deep threat Randy Moss. Power running LaMont Jordan. Al Davis loves speed. Power running to make the safeties come forward. Then hit them deep when there's one on one coverage. Randy Moss is going to demand that the safety and cornerback pay close attention to him. The guy was hurt last year and he just didn't fit in Minnesota, but he'll be a great Raider. If Norv Turner can't win more than 5 games with this offense then he needs to leave the sport of football. Simple as that. I know the defense is enervating, but the Raiders got some serious offensive firepower. He's got to win at least 10 with this offense. I just worry about the offense scoring too quick and the defense getting run ragged. I would like the Raiders to address the linebacker position. The Raiders have to be able to stop the run and make teams one dimensional. And pressure. No turnovers without pressure. Warren Sapp has played tackle in the 4-3 all his career and now he's an end. I really hope that the 3-4 has been scrapped. Football is such a beautiful sport. The strategy and tactics are sublime.

I think a problem I see at my school is that students are not taking responsibility for the school. Teachers are more than holding up their part. I work with some incredible people. Yes I could do much better and I'll keep trying. But the students aren't taking ownership of the school. If there is going to be social justice then the students need to be on each others case. They need to check each other so that the teachers aren't always the ones doing it. The students need to help create the social environment. We got a leadership course but it's on the quarter system. I would like to see a year long leadership course with students attending staff meetings. Keep the students informed on what is going on in their school. Then they can disseminate info to their friends. Also the selection process needs to be more selective. If people come in then they need to be on a probationary period where everyone has got their eyes out for how people act. Students need to reign in the knuckleheads and not have ignorant people mess up the school.

the only question marks on offence i see are:

How will the offensive line play?- do we have enough up front to really ram it down thier throats and also pass protect on those deep patterns?

Will Kerry Collins play better now that this is 'his team' or does he slide back into mediocracy?

On defence i think we will probably see improvement. maybe not drastic improvement.... but some. I think we will see at least one rookie corner starting. I also have a feeling Charles Woodson will play some safety this year. If the db's get better and we scrap the 3-4 i am betting the defence will become a decent unit.
